23 FOOT FALMOUTH WORKING BOAT GRP GAFF CUTTERS

These elegant boats were originally built for oyster dredging in the late 1960's. Growing demand to combine tradition with the present has lead to these safe and seaworthy hulls being adapted for cruising.

This is a pretty little craft with a 9' coachroof which enhances its elegant lines. The standard open boat as used for dredging and racing is also available. There are a handful of these 23' boats still dredging trying to keep the tradition alive.

Below decks the main cabin has 5' 10" headroom with two single berths either side of a drop leaf table. Beneath the berths are spacious storage lockers. The galley area is on the port side with two burner gas cooker with grill and stainless steel sink with storage cupboards below. There is a hanging locker on the starboard side. The forepeak has two berths with a sea toilet cleverly incorporated under one with more storage space under the other. Berth cushions in a variety of cruiser fabrics are also available to add comfort and warmth to the cabin.

There is a 6' cockpit with good visibility. The rigid water tank and engine are fitted under the cockpit sole, the bilge pump and fuel tank are fixed under the side decks. Two cockpit lockers are located either side of the cockpit door providing storage for oilers, lifelines and jackets, one houses the gas bottle.

They are also useful seats as well as steps for easy cockpit access. The after locker gives space for fenders, mooring ropes etc. Set into the cabin sides are six brass portholes, three either side, four of which open, two are fixed.

We invite customers to design their own cabin layout if the standard design is not suitable for their particular needs. In these cases this will be priced accordingly.
